Nonsuicidal self-injury in a clinical sample of adolescents in Serbia

Background/Aim. Nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) among adolescents is recognized as a significant public health concern. Adolescents with mental problems are at an especially high risk of NSSI. The aim the study was to assess sociodemographic and clinical characteristics patients NSSI features NSSI, well impact emotional reactivity internalizing/externalizing on them. Methods. observational included sample 111 treated Department Child Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatric Clinic University Clinical Center Vojvodina, from March 2018 October 2019. were divided into two groups: group A comprised who had least one episode in last year, B no their experience. following scales used examine differences between B: self-report questionnaires about behavioral (Youth Self-Report ? YSR, Behavior Checklist CBCL), (Emotion Reactivity Scale ERS), suicidality (Self- Injurious Thoughts Behaviors Interview SITBI). Results. Group contained total 58 older than subjects predominated by female participants.
